ISABELLE CIARAVOLA
Noticed by Christiane Vaussard, she entered the Paris Conservatory in 1985 and won a first prize in 1988 which allowed her to join the second division of the Paris Opera dance school. In 1990 at the age of 18, Isabelle Ciaravola joined the company's corps de ballet. Promoted to Coryphée in 1993, Subject in 2000, First Dancer in 2003, Isabelle Ciaravola was named Star Dancer on April 16, 2009 following the first performance of Onegin by John Cranko (entry to the repertoire), where she played the role of Tatiana. Often nicknamed the Legs of the Opera, because of their length, she is acclaimed for her very accurate interpretations of her roles and the elegant purity of her dance. In February 2014, she made her official farewell to the Paris Opera during a performance of Onegin. She was made a Knight of Arts and Letters in 2011 and a Knight of the Legion of Honor in 2012. Expressing a desire to pass on her knowledge, she has been a professor at the Paris Conservatory since September 2014.
